Dorian Wood

Dorian Wood's rich, haunting melodies and deeply personal tales of heartbreak and working-class fury are elevated by his spiralling warble/wail/battle cry, echoing the raw, early days of Odetta, Tom Waits, Nick Cave and Bryan Ferry. A native of Echo Park, California, Dorian Wood began his career by performing his first piano recital at the age of 5. He received his lessons from his grandfather, a pianist and composer. After graduating from the Conservatorio de Castella in Costa Rica, Wood spent four semesters at the Los Angeles City College Film School, before dropping out. Read more about Dorian Wood on Last.fm.
